Boles Construction took great care to maintain the natural meadow landscape around the home. The remote site required extensive infrastructure work and all utilities to be brought to the site. Massive boulders from SE Colorado add to the natural setting of the man made trout pond, making it appear to have been in existence for some time. The exteriors of each segment of the building are different and feature reclaimed hand-hewn beech logs, Vintage Wood siding and stone. All of the exposed fresh lumber ist treated with an aging process that produces no toxic by-products found in typical stains and wood treatments. The home's exterior envelope is super insulated to minimize energy usage. A walled courtyard welcomes visitors and is a central gathering place. The large aquarium is a focal point on the main floor and custom tile in all the baths speak to the owner's eclectic design approach. Photography by Jay Goodrich.
